Begin your day at one of the kid-friendly museums in Flint including the Flint Children’s Museum and Sloan Museum of Discovery. Both of which have amazing activities for young and older children.

The Children’s Museum has hands-on activities including the Discover Zone and rotating exhibits. Meanwhile, the Sloan combines interactive exhibits for kids and adults, an explorative water table, a model town for kids to explore, history exhibits that both kids and adults will love, and an automotive gallery.

For lunch, the family can check out one of Flint & Genesee’s many coney islands for an authentic Flint-style coney. Westside Diner on Ballenger Hwy. is a 50s style diner featuring American eats like burgers and omelets, and even serves kids meals in a vintage cardboard car.

If you’d rather bring your lunch, there are plenty of great places to have a picnic at a local park. Stepping Stone Falls, open in the spring, summer, and early fall, offers picnic tables and a great view of the human built falls.

In Burton, this nature preserve offers hiking trails, a butterfly garden, a barrier free treehouse, and a visitor’s center where you can explore the science around nature.

The family can also check out DEFY Flint, an indoor trampoline park with over 15,000 square feet of interconnected trampolines. The park offers world-class activities such as Extreme Dodgeball, trapeze, launch pads, foam pits, dunk zones, and a battle beam.
