Each November, Explore Flint & Genesee celebrates the outstanding hospitality professionals, community champions, and places that make a positive impact in our region. These honorees are recognized at the Flint & Genesee Group’s Art of Achievement Awards, taking place Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at the FIM Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint.
Help us honor the people and places that make Flint & Genesee a destination to remember. Nominations for the 2025 Art of Achievement Awards are now closed. Nominations submitted after October 3, 2025, will be applied to the 2026 Art of Achievement Awards.
Guidelines:
- Nominees must be individuals or businesses operating in Genesee County, Michigan.
- Self-nominations are welcome.
- Award decisions are based on the quality of nominations, not the number received.
- Current Flint & Genesee Group employees are not eligible.
Award Categories:
- Attraction of the Year: Awarded to a venue or attraction that continues to raise the bar, offering top-notch entertainment or programming to the community and visitors
- Bryant “BB” Nolden Community Champion: Recognizes an individual or organization that improves Flint & Genesee through community collaboration, advocacy, and engagement
- CTA of the Year: Recognizes an individual Flint & Genesee Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) who has gone above and beyond to promote the region, bring awareness to attractions, spread a hospitality-driven culture, and grow the CTA network
- Frontline Ambassador of the Year: Recognizes outstanding customer service in the non-hotel areas of food service, bartender, transportation, business, etc.
- Hotel Ambassador of the Year: Recognizes a hospitality worker who provided outstanding service in areas including, but not limited to, front desk, host, hostess, housekeeper, guest services, hotel restaurant, and maintenance
- Hotel of the Year: Recognizes a hotel for outstanding service, comfort, and attention to hotel guests, providing an excellent overall experience
- Restaurant of the Year: Recognizes a restaurant for their outstanding service, menu, and overall experience of the customer
