Flint & Genesee may not be Beer City, USA; however, the area does have a quaint selection of craft beer, wine and liquor to quench the taste of beverage lovers. Whether you’re here for a day trip or in for the weekend, the bars, pubs and breweries throughout Flint & Genesee are fun gathering spots for friends to meet, socialize, and - of course - enjoy a drink or two.

Fenton Winery & Brewery/Dream Machine

In the southern end of the county, Fenton Winery & Brewery is one of the oldest microbrewery and wineries in Genesee County. Founded in 2007, you can enjoy a rotating beer and wine list featuring fan favorites and award-winning drinks crafted on-site. New in 2022, the local brand added spirits to its menu including vodka, rum, agave spirit and gin through its venture Dream Machine and has a full-service bar crafting up cocktails using its house-made spirits.  

Enjoy your beverage in the taproom or the beautiful beer garden along with one of the brewery’s locally loved pizzas, sandwiches or snacks. 

Spicer Winery Tasting Room  

Also located in Fenton a little farther south, Spicers Winery Tasting Room has a variety of fruit wines and hard cider along with a small food menu featuring appetizer-type dishes. Spicer Orchard has been a family run orchard since the mid-1920s and with the market and winery open year-round. It is a destination for locals and visitors featuring fresh donuts and cider, family activities, and a u-pick farm.

Tenacity Brewing 

Just outside of downtown Flint is the city’s first and only brewery Tenacity. Located in a re-fabbed fire station, the local joint offers extraordinary creative beers brewed with pride in Flint. Enjoy a beverage in the taproom or outdoor beer garden and grab a bite featuring Vehicle City Tacos in the summer and specialty Detroit-style pizza in the winter.  

Redline Brewing Company 

Travel north to find yourself in Burton at Redline Brewing Company. The small two-barrel system microbrewery serves up a variety of high quality, handcrafted and unique beers. The hot-rod themed establishment offers entertainment including music, television and games and serves up complementary popcorn to snack on while you enjoy a nice cold brew.

Almar Orchards 

Want to add in one more experience to the agenda? Check out Almar Orchards in Flushing, home of the award-winning Scrumpy Organic Farm Cider. The orchard’s cider brand JK’s crafts hard cider that is sold nationally. You can try all seven flavors at its tasting room located at the orchard and check out the farm’s other offerings including fresh apples and cider donuts while you’re there.
