Whether you want to go dancing in the city or are looking for fun in the country, there’s something exciting waiting for you this weekend.

Flint’s downtown area will host Drop Fest XIII on August 9, a free music festival that promises to get everyone moving. The festival will run from noon to 10 p.m. and feature DJs spinning tunes in the heart of the city. DJs from all around the region will set the mood and keep everyone dancing, but that isn’t the only fun to find, as there will also be human canvases, fashion shows, vendors, and food for sale. Head out to Drop Fest this weekend and check out the dozens of DJs and enjoy the area’s biggest dance party.

Later in the weekend, you can head to Montrose for the 54th Annual Montrose Blueberry Festival from Aug. 10 to 17. The festival will feature parades, a walk/run, marketplace, golf scramble, car show, softball tourneys, duck race, cornhole tournament, and much, much more. At the heart of the event is the blueberry pancake breakfast and the many blueberry goods you can purchase during the festival. There are many great things to do with the whole family at this local favorite.

Another great event happening in Flint on Aug. 10 is 810 Day. The fun will go from 2 to 10 p.m. at Manhattan Park downtown. There will be fashion shows, food, and music, with a concert closing things out at the end of the night. This fun block-party style event will bring the city together for a celebration of the local area code.

These are just a few of the opportunities available this weekend and beyond. To see them all, check out the Flint & Genesee calendar of events.
