The Start of Your Adventure Is In Flint & Genesee

As the warmer weather hits, the need to get outside and get active takes hold. Luckily Flint & Genesee has many options to give you that adrenaline rush.

If you are interested in something to get you moving, then bowling may be the best way to get friends together hit the lanes. There are many local options from Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc, Fenton Lanes in Fenton, Richfield Bowl or B’s Bowling in Flint, and other options in Grand Blanc, Clio, Flushing, and Davison. Some places even offer karaoke and videogames. If you’d rather roll another way and prefer to hit the rink, roller-skate at Rollhaven in Flint or Skateland Arena in Mt. Morris.

For more intense thrills head to Extreme Indoor Kart Racing in Clio and take a go-kart around an indoor track. Race friends or strangers for the glory of victory. Or head out to CRU Paintball in Mt. Morris where you and your friends, family, or coworkers can play paintball in a safe outdoor environment. If you prefer dirt and mud, take your own vehicle off road at The Mounds. Run by Genesee County Parks, this is a great place to get down and dirty with some off road with your own soundtrack playing. There is also Richfield County Park/BMX Track if you prefer to get your bike out for a spin on the track. Then again, you can just head over to Auto City Speedway in Clio to watch other people race around the track or take part in destruction derbies.

Speaking of the derby, if you’d rather your adrenaline come from watching others break a sweat then head out to one of the Flint Roller Derby bouts, held at Rollhaven. If you’ve never experienced roller derby, there’s an intensity and excitement that has to be seen to be appreciated. Now is also the perfect time to check out our own Flint City Bucks soccer team, who won the 2022 USL League Two Central Conference, or their counterparts with Flint City AFC, in the W League. The team plays at Kettering University’s Historic Atwood Stadium and is always fun to watch. Also check out one of Flint’s two professional basketball teams, the Flint Monarchs women’s team or Flint United, the men’s team.

There are other ways to be active that are off the beaten path. Check out Defy in Flint Township where you can burn off some energy with fun in the indoor park full of trampolines, high flying basketball, extreme dodgeball, ninja course, zip line, and so much more. Goldenrod Disc Golf Course in Davison is a full 18-basket course and better than that, it’s free to play, just make sure to bring your discs. Spymaker has two locations in Flint, one offering axe-throwing with the other offering escape rooms. If an escape room sounds like it’ll work your mind and body, then you can also look to Michigan Escape Games in Davison for its offerings. You might just prefer to head to Card Table Republic in Davison or Great Escape Gaming just outside of downtown Flint for your tabletop gaming needs or tournaments. Finally, if your idea of a thrill is more about a leisurely ride in a hot air balloon piloted by Balloon Quest, Inc. – Capt. Phogg Balloon Rides then who are we to stop you?
