The Rodeo and Comic Con are Coming Up This Weekend

Gaines welcomes the rodeo back for another year as the 22nd Annual Gaines Community Rodeo returns for a weekend of fun. The main event will feature barrel racing, bull riding, bucking bronc, calf roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, mini bull riding, and team roping as well. Bleacher seating will be available at the event, but they recommend bringing chairs or blankets for lawn seating in case the bleachers fill up. While outside food and beverages are not permitted, food and drinks will be available for sale during the weekend for those who need a refreshment or two while watching the rodeo. Friday and Saturday nights will feature live music in the entertainment tent, concluding the evenings with some fun for the adults.

In Flint, the Really Cool Comic Con will be held at the Dort Financial Center on July 19–20. The convention will feature several special guests from the worlds of wrestling and anime voice acting, alongside dozens of vendors, video game competitions, panels, and costume contests. Fans of pop culture will love this event that brings so many corners of fandom together under one roof.
