Whether you’re a runner, looking for some fun at the fair, or want to take in a professional golf tourney, you’ll have plenty to see and do during this weekend in Flint & Genesee.
For nearly 50 years, the HAP CareSource Crim Festival of Races has brought runners from around the world to the bricks of downtown Flint, and this weekend marks another year for the great race. Things will kick off on Friday, Aug. 22, with the Michigan Mile before the main event on Saturday. The day will start with the Hand Cyclists and Wheelers taking on the 10-mile race bright and early, then move into the rest of the pack, starting with the 30 Year Racers and going from there. The Half Crim will start at 9 a.m., the 5K Run will be at 10 a.m., with the 5K Walk following it, and the fun will conclude with the Teddy Bear Trot for the kids.
The Genesee County Fair returns for 2025, wrapping up on Sunday, Aug. 24. Before it’s over, there is plenty of time to catch the demolition derby, FMX stunt show, and on Sunday, there will be the rodeo. While at the fair, you can find fun on the midway rides, play games, check out the many farm and animal exhibits, shop with the vendors, eat some delicious fair food, see some wrestling, human cannonballs, chainsaw art, and more.
The Ally Challenge Presented by McLaren PGA Golf Tournament begins on Aug. 21 and wraps up on Aug. 24, with the final rounds of play happening over the weekend at Warwick Hills golf course. While golf will take center stage this weekend, it will share the spotlight on Friday with a concert from the band “WAR,” and then on Saturday with a concert featuring country artists Sam Hunt and Dustin Lynch, followed by a drone show.
