Flint & Genesee will be alive with music this weekend and full of fun.
The 43rd Annual Flint Jazz Festival will happen in the heart of the city from Aug. 1 to 3. On Aug. 1, there will be live Jazz music at Queen’s Provisions, Cork on Saginaw, and Market Tap. On Saturday and Sunday, the tunes will move to Riverbank Park with two days of free music. The performances start at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Vendors, food, and drinks will also be available at the main event. Additionally, each venue on Friday will offer refreshments for purchase. Check out the event listing for a list of all performers and set times.
Over in Goodrich, a full slate of good times is planned for the weekend. On Aug. 1, the Hoedown in G-Town will offer an evening of country fun with line dancing, mechanical bull rides, and live music from three great bands. This event is for adults only. On Aug. 2, the 11th Annual Cruise to Goodrich Car Show will be held with dozens of classic cars and trucks on display. Later that evening, the Back to the 80s party will feature live music and dancing until late. During the weekend, vendors will also be on hand, along with a Kids Zone, food trucks, a cornhole tournament, and a petting zoo.
Finally, over in the Civic Park neighborhood of Flint, the Civic Park Heritage & Harmony Blues Festival will be held on Aug. 2. It’s advised to bring lawn chairs to settle in for the music. This is a free event with children’s activities, community resources, and a business marketplace.
