It’s hard to believe that as the holiday season gets in full swing it’s also time to start making New Year’s Eve plans. Luckily, there are a lot of options in Flint & Genesee to stay local and celebrate the changing of the year.
If you are in the mood to rock, you can get tickets for The Machine Shop’s annual New Year’s Eve bash with the band Ironsnake. Spend the enjoying the soulful sounds of some good-time rock and roll featuring classic cover songs that will get everyone moving.
If you prefer your rock to be a little more low-key, then hit up the Flint Eagles 629 to see Flashback, who will be playing classic hits from the ‘50s-‘70s. During the evening, there will be dinner, music, and a toast at midnight. Tickets are on sale now.
For something a little different Them Guys Entertainment will have a New Year’s Eve Ball ‘for the Grown & Sexy ages 40 and up”. This event will be held at Roma’s Banquet Center and will feature food, a bar, and music from DJ Hollywood, Stan the Man, and Henry.
Out at Scooter’s Bar & Grill you’ll find music from Domestic Disturbance and Cybil & the Beast as you rock in the new year with great food and good company.
At Ray-All Garage you can spend the evening getting down with the John Fett Quartet starting at 7 p.m.
You can ring in the new year’s arrival at Soothing Tunes with the Chris Canas Band. For $25 a person or $40 per couple, you’ll have a night of music and fun with live music, appetizers, party favors, and a champagne toast.
Perhaps you are looking to dance the night away, then head out to JW’s Music Factory for it bash. There will be a VIP dinner available for purchase, performers, and hustle madness. It’s going to be a night of dancing and fun to celebrate the new year.
If the family is looking for something fun, or you just want to leave the bars behind, you can hit up either B’s Bowling Center or Richfield Bowl for their New Year’s Eve celebrations. At B’s there’s a Fun for All where you can rent a lane for the family from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Later that night there’s a late-night party from 9:30-1 a.m. with pizza, pop, and a lane for $125. Over at Richfield Bowl, there are two sessions for Rent-a-Lane, the first from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and the second session from 5:30-8:30 p.m. They also offer a late-night party with the same fees, amenities, and times as B’s but also offer Spark Bowling lanes for $150 a lane during the party.
Finally, for those who want their children to be able to celebrate the arrival of the new year a little earlier, you can head to Flint Children’s Museum for its Noon Year’s Eve from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event is $8 a person and will offer soda geysers, firework art, the opportunity to make noisemakers and party crowns, and a big balloon drop at noon. This is a great chance for kids to celebrate with their families without having to stay up late to do it.
These are but a few of the many events happening in Flint & Genesee and all of them offer fun, safe ways to spend the evening as you enjoy the end of 2023.
