Arguably the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. In Flint & Genesee, there are a number of restaurants, small businesses and attractions celebrating the day. Whether you plan to celebrate with your significant other, your little ones or with some friends, there are several activities to choose from.

Here is what you can do this Valentine’s Day in Flint & Genesee:

Shopping

For those who are looking for a great gift for their valentines, there are a few craft markets you can go to. The first, Flint Handmade Valentine’s Craft Market, will be held Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Flint Farmers’ Market and feature over 20 local artisans with handmade goods. The second is the Valentine Gifts & Craft Show hosted by Michigan Makers at the Fenton Cultural & Community Center from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Feb. 12. The show will feature 15 crafters and vendors as well as food from the D&W Street Eatery Food Truck.

Events

Looking for an experience this Valentine’s Day. There are a number of events happening at local attractions and venues. Events include:

  • Romance Under the Stars at Longway Planetarium
  • St. Cecilia Presents a Musical Valentine at the Flint Institute of Music
  • All Female Valentines Day Bingo and Comedy Show at the Agitated Grape
  • Pal-entine – The Hunt for the Abominable Snowman and Whoo’s In Low – Own Prowl at For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum

Dining

There are several restaurants in Genesee County that are offering Valentine’s day specials. In Flint, Sauce Italian Kitchen is offering a special Valentine’s menu on Saturday, Feb. 12, Sunday Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 14. Redwood Lodge is selling dinner for two at home including a bottle of prosecco or red or white wine. DaEdoardo North in Grand Blanc is accepting reservations for Valentine’s Day. In Fenton, The Laundry and the Fenton Hotel are both taking reservations for Valentine’s Day. In Flushing, Signature Chop House  is accepting reservations for Valentine’s Day and Kathy’s Restaurant and Lounge is promoting a special Valentine’s Day menu.
