With KISS tribute band Strutter coming to the FIM Capitol Theatre on Nov. 1, it’s a perfect time for a weekend trip to Flint & Genesee. Enjoy some music, good food, and the beauty of the fall season.

Saturday, Nov. 1

Make a reservation at downtown Flint’s Hilton Garden Inn Flint Downtown, where you are within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, and the FIM Capitol Theatre. The hotel offers Simmer rooftop bar, Sauce Italian American restaurant, and a 24-hour market. You can also stay at the nearby Holiday Inn Express Flint-Campus Area, which is within five minutes of downtown and the concert venue.

Once you are settled into your room, you’ll want to get dinner before the concert. There are many great options to choose from that aren’t far from the venue, such as Blackstone’s Smokehouse, where you can get some delicious barbecue, a burger, brisket, or something else. After you're full and happy, it’s time to head down to the concert. The FIM Capitol Theatre is just three blocks away from Blackstone’s, so it will be a quick walk to get where you need to be.

Strutter is the perfect way to end the Halloween season, and this note-for-note tribute to KISS’s style and showmanship can’t be beat. Settle into your seat in the historic theater and prepare for a night you won’t forget.

After the show, you can head back to your hotel to get some rest or hit up one of the nearby bars for a drink. Churchill’s Food & Spirits is right next door to the Hilton Garden Inn, and you can get everything from a beer or a whiskey from their extensive list of options before ending your night.

Sunday, Nov. 2

Before heading home, you can spend a relaxing day enjoying nature and fall color in Flint & Genesee.

Start your day with breakfast at Brother’s Brunch House. At Brother’s, you can get things going with something simple, like a traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast, pancakes, or an omelet.

Once you’ve eaten, head to For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum for a walk along their paths. Take a moment to reflect on the concert or simply enjoy some quiet time and clear your mind as you prepare for the week ahead.

If you want a little more of fall’s wonder, then head to Stepping Stone Falls and take in the view of the manufactured waterfalls, as the river, with the colors of fall all around you.

It’s been an exciting weekend, and one to remember. For more adventures like these, check out Explore Flint & Genesee’s website for other trip ideas and adventures.
