Director, Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitors Bureau
The situation with the City of Flint’s water continues to be on the hearts and minds of people statewide and across the nation. The outpouring of support our community and its residents have received from everyday people, corporations and celebrities has been tremendous. This includes all of the thoughtful and heartfelt correspondences we have received from our partners in the travel and tourism industry from across the state.
We, here at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, are grateful for support for our community, as we continue to work with our partners at all levels of government to safeguard Flint’s drinking water.
At the same time, the Flint & Genesee Chamber remains focused on business investment and economic growth in our region, and the vital role of tourism. The Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) continues to work hard to position our region as a desirable destination for overnight visitors, including tourists and business travelers.
Flint & Genesee is open for business and continues to offer an array of activities for visitors and conferees to experience. In addition, there are ‘voluntourism’ opportunities available for visitors interested in helping with the City of Flint’s recovery efforts related to the ongoing water emergency.
You should know that the majority of our lodging facilities are located outside the City of Flint and are served by different municipal water systems. Moreover, establishments served by the City of Flint municipal system, including lodging, restaurants and attractions, have implemented the appropriate measures to safeguard their drinking water.
This is a great time to support our region by sharing news with your members and communities that Flint & Genesee is open for business and tourism!
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need assistance regarding travel to Flint & Genesee.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
