Memorial Day in Flint & Genesee

Memorial Day is a day of honoring military members who have given their lives in service of the nation. There are many opportunities to gather and honor these sacrifices and spend time with friends and family in Flint & Genesee.

May 24 - Clio Can-Do Freedom 4 Veterans Race

Bauman’s Running/Walking Shop presents these events with all proceeds aiding local non-profits. The one-mile Hero Race will benefit veterans and those adults with intellectual disabilities in the county.

May 24-26 - Honoring American Veterans - Opening Weekend

Opening weekend at Crossroads Village will bring live entertainment, family fun, and a ceremony by the Quilts of Valor. Veterans will receive free admission.

May 24 - Maximum Destruction - Honor Those That Have Served

Auto City Outdoor Event Center will host several races as well as Maximum Destruction.

May 25 - 6th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Beats X BBQ Weekend

Beats x BBQ returns in the parking lot of Tenacity Brewing. There will be food, music, and vendors during the show.

May 26 - 29th Annual City of Burton's Memorial Day Celebration

There will be a 5K, cornhole competition, parade, Kids Zone, car show, music, a ceremony and candlelight vigil, and Memorial Day ceremony, and the night will end with fireworks. Race fans will even have a 5K run and walk to take part in.

May 26 - Linden Music by the Mill

Head to Linden to hear some live music near the historic mill. This show will feature Denise Davis and the Motown Sensations with their blues and pop music.

May 26 - Linden's Memorial Day Event

Linden is hosting a Memorial Day event at 10 a.m. on Mill St. with a parade to Fairview Cemetery and a VFW ceremony in the veteran’s memorial section of the cemetery. Afterwards there will be a picnic.
