The Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint is continuing to put on great shows this fall. With big acts on the docket, here are the upcoming shows at the historic theatre:
Mike Epps
On September 1, comedian Mike Epps will grace the stage at the Capitol Theatre. From the Big Screen to the Main Stage Mike Epps is one of the biggest stars in Comedy. Don’t miss his Capitol Performance as he brings his act from Tinseltown to Flinttown.
Haflah - Celebration of Art and Culture
The FIM Flint Symphony Orchestra and National Arab Orchestra (NAO) will come together for an evening celebrating the beauty and richness of the Arab world through music on September 14. Guest artists include Michael Ibrahim, music director; Nazih Borish, oud; and Usama Baalbaki, vocals.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
This "Cartoon noir" follows detective Eddie Valiant as he seeks to clear the name of a toon rabbit framed for murder. A blend of live-action, animation, and allegory set in 1947 Los Angeles. See the movie on September 15.
KC & The Sunshine Band
On September 16, KC and The Sunshine Band has celebrated over 40 years of making booties shake. They gave a voice to a generation, helped define an entire culture, and continue to make an impact today. With over four decades of success, the group, led by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, has been in a state of constant renewal in their niche of cultural relevancy–thanks in part to their music being featured in numerous motion picture soundtracks, television shows, and national advertising campaigns.
Mott, Motown & More: Celebrity Lip Sync Reunion Tour
This popular annual fundraiser moves to the stage of the Capitol Theatre to celebrate Mott Community College’s 100th anniversary. Join them for the return of the widely acclaimed Celebrity Lip Sync show followed by a special anniversary party and dance celebration on September 22.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils
On September 23, with the band’s music collection mostly out of print by the millennium, and only their debut album in print on CD, an effort was begun to reissue all of their works. This was launched with the December 2000 release of “Time Warp” The Very Best Of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, a 21-track compilation from all of the A&M studio albums. Following that was a concentrated effort by New Era Productions to accomplish the long-awaited reissue of their individual A&M albums “It’ll Shine When It Shines”, “The Car Over The Lake Album”, “Men From Earth”, “It’s Alive” and “Don’t Look Down”. The CBS (Columbia) self-titled album “Ozark Mountain Daredevils” was released in November 2005, thus completing the reissue series of A&M and CBS recordings.
Blue Öyster Cult
For over five decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, NY-based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. The rock band will play the stage on September 29.
Epic Eagles & Classic Seger
The critically acclaimed, top North American tributes to the Eagles and Bob Seger take the stage both on their own and together in this one-of-a-kind, interactive concert experience. Each performance captures the passion and hard-driving rock spirit that can only be found at a 70’s rock ‘n’ roll show on October 7.
Scott McCreery
Winner of the 10th season of "American Idol," Scott McCreery is a country music star with four albums that have debuted at No. 1 on a Billboard Album chart with current combined sales surpassing 4 million copies. The musician will grace the stage of the Capitol Theatre on October 12.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
The 48th Anniversary Spectacular tour featuring the original Magenta, Patricia Quinn. Join them for a screening of the original unedited movie with a live shadow cast and audience participation. Plus a costume contest and more. Don't miss this show on October 14.
What's Love Got to Do with It
Screening October 20, this biographical film is centered around singer Tina Turner’s musical success and personal failures. Turner pursues and soon rises in the ranks as a famous performer, but behind closed doors, she has to deal with an abusive husband and a chaotic life.
Ginuwine
On October 21, 90s R&B is here to stay. Don’t Miss Ginuwine classic performance at the Capitol Theatre alongside special R&B diva Sunshine Anderson. This is a sweetest day show you don’t want to miss!

LeAnn Rimes is an international multi-platinum-selling acclaimed singer and ASCAP award-winning songwriter. She has sold more than 48 million units globally, and won 2 Grammy® Awards; 12 Billboard Music Awards; 2 World Music Awards; 3 Academy of Country Music Awards; 2 Country Music Association Awards, and one Dove Award. The Fighting Temptations
To collect his inheritance, an ad exec must lead a gospel choir to victory at a music competition. The cast features real musicians, including Faith Evans, Melba Moore, and the O’Jays. This movie is showing on November 10.
Shadows of the 60s
On December 14, this show pays tribute to the tremendous legacy of Motown’s Super Groups, a salute to the legendary stars of Motown such as The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Mary Wells, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and The Four Tops. This special and interactive production features all the big Motown hits but also the well-known Motown holiday tunes which makes for a fun and exciting experience for the whole family. This is a night that your loved ones will remember!
It's a Wonderful Life
A yearly tradition, on December 15.
