Hitting the Fairways in Flint & Genesee

Spring is nearing and so are warmer days and hours spent out on one of the many fairways in Flint & Genesee. Better than that though, many of the area’s golf courses offer more than just golf and can give you a full day of food and fun.

Atlas Valley Country Club  - Once you step into Atlas Valley Country Club it’s easy to see that they have much more to offer than just golf. While the lush 18-hole course will offer golfers a challenge for all skill levels, it’s the rest of their amenities that are what help the facility stand out. The Valley Grille offers a delicious menu and has special events booked to keep you entertained. Its Trackman Lounge features a golf simulator and pickleball is coming to the country club soon as well. Pair that with a pool that is available for use with a membership, and you will have plenty to do during your stay.  

The Captain’s Club at Woodfield – At the Captain’s Club, you’ll find a course designed by golf legend Raymond Floyd that will challenge any seasoned golfer. While you are there you can stop at Stix, the club’s restaurant, for some delicious food ranging from pasta and pizza to burgers and sandwiches. Captain’s Club also offers frequent events throughout the year as well.

Sugarbush Golf Club – In Davison, this club has received many awards and honors over the years, among them, two Golfers’ Choice awards, and two Best of the Best awards from View Newspapers. Its championship, 18-hole course was designed by Larry Mancour and has been ranked as the best course in the county in recent years. Among the many amenities offered is a TopTracer practice facility that uses high-speed cameras to track golf balls and help hone your game. This isn’t the only place you can try out your skills without stepping on a green, the club also offers sports simulators year-round that give users the option of ten sports to test out. There are also events happening all year round at the club to keep you busy and entertained. The club offers space for weddings and special events and its restaurant offers simple but memorable meals that will make you want to stop in for a bite before you leave.

Coyote Preserve Golf Club – Located in Fenton, the Coyote Preserve Golf Club will offer a challenge to golfers of all skill levels as gives you a view of the lakes, wetlands, and prairies of this gorgeous course. This Arnold Palmer Signature course has all the amenities one would expect, such as an immaculate course, a pro shop, and a driving range. The club also offers space for weddings and special events, hosts its own events, and offers a restaurant with full bar service and snacks for golfers.

Flushing Valley Golf Club – Flushing’s own Golf Club will give the feeling of a private club with its beautiful views and well-maintained greens, but this is a course the public can enjoy. The course was designed by Wilfrid Ewart “Wilfie” Reid, a professional golfer and course designer, in 1930 and has a classic feel to it. The club offers simulators to give you a realistic simulation of the world’s most beloved courses while honing your game as well. Its calendar is full of special events, and it offers rental space for your own occasions as well. The Kleeman Bar & Grill offers a relaxed atmosphere to watch any number of major sporting events while having a drink or a quick bite.

These are just a few of the many wonderful courses Flint & Genesee has to offer. While some clubs are members-only, they all offer fun, challenging courses and many amenities that make it easy to stay and play locally this spring, summer, and fall.
