Late last month, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced lifted restrictions on indoor entertainment venues including movie theaters, performance venues and bowling centers.
For theaters, the order allows seating at 20 percent capacity with a maximum of 500 people for larger venues. Restrictions will be placed on other indoor entertainment venues, as well. Local businesses must follow guidelines to be able to open to the public.
This is exciting news for Flint & Genesee visitors and locals especially with colder weather moving in. With venues such as the Capitol Theatre, the Whiting and the Machine Shop able to open in the not too distant future, world-class theater and exciting concerts are on the horizon.

The local theater has opened its doors and is showing both new releases and old classics. Showings include The War with Grandpa, The New Mutants, Tenet, Hocus Pocus and Coco.
This Flint theater will be bringing back the classics along with new releases this month. Classic movie showings include Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice and Star Wars: Episode V.
Although league bowling has been open for a few weeks now, Richfield Bowl in Flint will be opening its doors for open bowl with extra safety precautions in place.
Kids Castle
In Grand Blanc, the arcade Kids Castle is re-opening this month. The family fun center is booking kids’ birthday parties and will be open for daily play as well.
The local trampoline park is excitedly opening back up in October with added stipulations such as wearing mask.
In Grand Blanc Township, local favorite Rollhaven is re-opening in October for both open stake and private parties.
