Flint & Genesee is home to many sports tournaments, big and small, and offers wonderful spaces to play, everything from pickleball to softball. If you want to get some exercise and be involved in local sports, there are many options.  

 

Suppose you are a University of Michigan-Flint student. In that case, you can participate in club sports, such as baseball, basketball, golf, men’s hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, tennis, ultimate frisbee, and women’s volleyball.


Kettering University offers intramural sports to students: basketball, indoor soccer, badminton, inner tube water polo, ping pong, and volleyball.

 

The Mundy Sports Complex provides youth and adult soccer leagues, batting cages, and space for rent year-round for indoor baseball, soccer, softball, and football practice.

 

The Genesee Field House in Grand Blanc gives patrons an indoor driving range, adult flag football, homeschool boys’ soccer, flag football, baseball, softball, indoor soccer, kickball, and batting cages.

 

810 Sports Complex in Flint has pickleball courts and arenas for ice skating, hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and corn hole – perfect spaces for practice or games.

 

Students from fourth through sixth grade who want a greater challenge can contact the Greater Flint Olympian Sports League to learn about competing in the Greater Flint Olympian Games. The league offers the opportunity to compete in football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, track, and softball.

 

Cage Sports in Swartz Creek has youth leagues for boys’ and girls’ basketball.

 

Flint’s Berston Field House has long supported local athletics and is still going strong after 100 years. Berston offers a long list of wonderful enrichment programs, as well as several fitness programs, a boxing program, a basketball league, and youth football.  

 

Golfers will want to head over to The Grounds in Flushing to check out their TrackMan outdoor driving range, their indoor golf simulator, to get their clubs fixed at the pro shop, or in the warmer months, stop over to Cops & Robbers Great Escape for mini-golf in the same plaza.

 

Other local options for fun programs that get everyone moving can be found at the YMCA of Greater Flint. Hitting skills can be tested and honed at Flint’s Foutch’s Strike Zone, and indoor baseball and softball training facility. There are also several bowling alleys where young and old can hit the lanes to improve their scores.

 

No matter the weather, there are countless reasons to visit the many great sports venues in Flint & Genesee for some practice or a game or two.
