As much fun as winter is there is still more fun ahead with the approach of spring and the opportunity to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. Now is the perfect time to start setting your sights on all those projects and plans you have been thinking about.
Here are several ways you can gear up for Spring in Flint & Genesee.
Tune Up Your Wheels
Pull the bike out of storage, dust it off, and get it into a shop to get it looked over. You’ll want to make sure the tires are still good, that the brakes will work, and that everything is tight and tidy.
In the Fenton area, you can look into Cycle Fit for some help. Not just a repair shop, they can also fit you out with the gear you will want for those long rides this summer.
In Flint, there’s Recycle Bike Shop & Mobile Bike Repair. This mobile bike repair shop is a little less traditional but a great option for those on the go and in the city.

Run for It
The warmer weather will bring out the running clubs in full force and if you are interested in learning more then look no further than the Crim Fitness Foundation for ways to join a club or for upcoming races. Next is to get out there and start moving.

Get Planting
For those less inclined to break a sweat and more interested in breaking ground, this is also the best time to start planning your garden. Whether it be just finding the safest way to kill weeds or the most surefire way to get your soil ready for a new year, there are many places to look for advice and products.
To name a few places to check there is Purkey’s Nursery, Inc., in Flushing, Bordine’s Nursery in Grand Blanc, Carlsons’ Greenhouse in Fenton, and Wojo’s Garden Splendors in Davison.
