Summer in Flint & Genesee is full of adventure for families, meaning it’s just a matter of finding what you want to do and steering your ship toward the fun.

 

Aug. 1-2| Armstrong – Full Dome Feature

Catch it before it’s gone! Join a mouse as he sets sail in a rocket for the moon to find out if it is made of cheese.

 

Aug. 1| Reel Fishy Fun: Watery Habitats

Bring the kids in to refresh their fishing skills or to learn how it’s done, as they also get some new knowledge about fishing and ecology.

 

Aug. 2 - 3| 26th Annual Grand Blanc Art Fair

Enjoy fine art and handmade crafts at this annual art fair happening at Grand Blanc High School.

 

Aug. 1-31| By the Beach

Through the entire month of August, the Flint Children’s Museum welcomes children for ocean fun and water learning.

 

Aug. 2| Baffling Bill

Baffling Bill the magician will appear at the Flushing Area Library, with tricks and fun for all ages. (He will also appear at the Davison Area Library later in the afternoon.)

 

Aug. 2| Bat Hike

At For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum, families can take a bat hike and search the skies for these friends of the night.

 

Aug. 2 and 16| Flushing Movies in the Park

Flushing will be hosting films for the family featuring “Wicked” on Aug. 2 and “The Wild Robot” on Aug. 16.

 

Aug. 2| Free Youth Day

Williams Gun Sight will host a full day of fun for kids, from shooting to fly tying, bird house building, archery, and much more.

 

Aug. 5| Incredible Edible BUGS!! With MSUE

Learn about bugs you can eat at For-Mar for some creepy, crawly fun.
 

Aug 5| Treehouse Storytime

The treehouse at For-Mar will host a nature story time for kids featuring games, songs, and books.

 

Aug. 8| Baby Tours at the Flint Institute of Arts

This is a chance to introduce infants and toddlers to art and encourage engagement and growth.

 

Aug. 8| Flint Youth Theatre Presents: The Hobbit

The adventures of a lone Hobbit and a band of dwarves take over the Flint School of Performing Arts in this adaptation of the beloved book.

 

Aug. 12| Bricks Flicks: Drive-in Movie and Car Show!

Enjoy a car show and a movie at the US-23 Drive-In, where they will show “Slo-Mo – The Sloth Who Dared to Dream Fast.”

 

Aug. 14 and 21| Summer & Beach Activities hosted by MSU Extension

MSU Extension will host this event featuring beach-themed fun.

 

Aug. 16| Treasures in the Sand

Come out to Bluebell Beach for some fun in the sand and sun and demonstrations by a professional sand sculptor.

 

Aug. 19-24| Genesee County Fair

The Genesee County Fair returns with a concert, a demolition derby, a monster truck show, animals, a rodeo, games, rides, food, and much more.

 

Aug. 22| Foam Party

Come out to the Flint Children’s Museum for a fun foam party.

 

Aug. 22| Swartz Creek Hometown Days presents the 1st Annual Summer Send-Off

Have one last blast of summer at this fun event with games, food trucks, prizes, and all kinds of water fun.
