Fall is here and there are plenty of ways to celebrate the cool weather and changing of the leaves. In the towns and cities that encompass Flint & Genesee, festivals and events are popping up just in time for the season. From apple orchard adventures and small-town shindigs, here are six Fall festivals you can attend this season.

2022 Flushing Harvest Fest

Head to downtown Flushing to enjoy the Flushing Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 1 from 9:30 am-4:00 pm! The autumn extravaganza showcases all that is Fall in Michigan. Main Street is lined with homemade scarecrows created by community members and businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the top three scarecrows. Other activities include an apple pie baking contest, pie eating contest, chalk art contest, beard contest, and chili cook-off, along with local entertainment, dance shows, pumpkin painting, and arts & crafts.

Fall Harvest Festival

Celebrate the season at Applewood Estate and enjoy free family fun in Flint on October 1 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event includes cider & apples, farm animals, harvest activities and displays, music and performances, live demonstrations, historic house tours – no reservations necessary, and the Taste of Applewood made with ingredients grown at the estate.

Art on Tap: Beer, Bourbon & BBQ

The Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) is pleased to announce the return of the 13th Annual Art on Tap: Beer, Bourbon, BBQ event on October 14 from 7-9 p.m. Join the FIA this fall to sample an exclusive selection of craft beers and sip on unique bourbons outdoors under multiple tents. Guests will enjoy live music, photo opportunities, art demonstrations, giant games, and a delicious barbecue buffet and donut bar. Enter to win amazing raffle packages on site. Family Fun Weekend

Head to Montrose Orchards on October 22 & 23 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and enjoy Fall fun for the whole family. Hayrides, pumpkin picking, apple cider and more will be part of this event on the orchard.

Jeepers Creekers

In Swartz Creek, have fun at the annual Jeepers Creekers event on Saturday, October 8. The event includes the annual Jeepers Creekers Fun Run & 5k, the local cottage market, a trunk or treat and an outdoor screening of Nightmare Before Christmas.

Bring in the Fall Bash

Join the Flint Local 432 to bring in the Fall with a live music concert. Featured bands include Fox Grave, Dick Hickey, Escape Plan, Torn Away and As Your Attorney. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is open to all ages in the substance-free venue located in downtown Flint.
