Local farmers’ markets are a staple in many midwestern cities and towns. Throughout Michigan, there are plenty of seasonal and year-long farmers’ markets from Detroit’s Eastern Market to small farm stands.

In Flint & Genesee, local cities host seasonal farmers’ markets and there are a few year-round farmers’ markets and farm stands in the area, perfect for locals and visitors to enjoy fresh, local fruits and vegetables, handmade goods, and unique fast-casual dining.

Here are the farmers’ markets in Flint & Genesee:

Flint Farmers’ Market

Situated in the heart of downtown Flint, the Flint Farmers’ Market offers over 50 vendors inside with an additional 30 vendors outside. Vendors include local farmers, crafters, food vendors, and more. The Flint Farmers’ Market also has a demonstration kitchen, two commercial kitchens, event space, and a rooftop terrace. Right off the rooftop terrace is Market Tap, a bar serving all Michigan-made products. Throughout the summer, the downtown market is hosting Night Markets on select dates, extending its hours to accommodate those who can't make it down during the day.

Davison Farmers Market

On the corner of Irish Rd. and Court Street in Davison lies the Davison Farmers Market. Home to over 70 vendors, the market is your source for fresh food, baked goods, and more. The Davison Farmers Market also hosts a variety of events including special craft markets, car shows, and food truck days.

Fenton Farmers Market

Every Thursday from May 20 – October 14, the Fenton Farmers Market is open from 5 – 9 p.m. The open-air market sets up outside the Fenton Community Center and features produce, meat and cheese, and craft vendors as well as food trucks. The market also runs during the Fenton Experience.

Goodrich Farmers Market

New this year, every Saturday from 2-5 p.m. the Goodrich Farmers Market is held in the Goodrich United Methodist Church parking lot off State Street. The Goodrich Farmers Market exists to encourage community engagement by hosting a weekly opportunity to gather together, offering local and high-quality produce, products, and fare, with a focus on food over products.

Apple Lane Orchard

In Flint, Apple Lane Orchard features seasonal fresh produce and Amish baked goods. The local farm stand also sells flowers and hanging baskets in the spring and summer, donuts, cider, and pumpkins in the fall, and Christmas trees, grave blankets, and wreaths in the winter. 

Knickerbocker Farm Market and Greenhouse

Located in Mt. Morris, Knickerbocker Farm Market and Greenhouse offers fresh produce from their farm along with high-quality unique merchandise. 

Rich's Greenhouse & Farm Market

Open from April until the end of September, Rich's Greenhouse & Farm Market in Swartz Creek sells flowers and hanging baskets in the spring and early summer and fresh Michigan fruits and vegetables after the first of June. 

Walker Farms and Greenhouses

Burton's Walker Farms and Greenhouses serves the community with seasonal flowers, household plants, trees, and landscaping supplies sold along with fresh fruits and vegetables including sweet corn, tomatoes, and seasonal squash.
