Experience the Orchards in Flint & Genesee

Summer comes to a close, and now is a great time to plan a trip to your local apple orchard. Most people are ready to feel the crisp fall air, see the beautiful autumn colors, and pick up some apples and donuts at a local orchard.

Many fall apple varieties including MacIntosh, Honey Crisp, and Red Delicious begin their harvest season in early to mid-September. However, there are currently summer apple varieties being harvested in August and other in-season fruits including blueberries.

Almar Orchards

The all-organic Almar Orchards located in Flushing doesn’t just make apples. It is also the farm behind J.K.’s Farmhouse Ciders – featuring six different ciders that are distributed to over 2,000 stores across the country.

Apple Lane Orchard

In Flint, Apple Lane Orchard features seasonal fresh produce, Amish baked goods, donuts, cider, and pumpkins in the fall. 

Damouni Farms

On West Reid Road, Damouni Farms has you-pick and already-picked apples including Fuji, Gala, Honey Crisp, and Royal Red apples. The farm store also has mums and pumpkins available in the fall. 

Koan's Orchard

Located in Flushing, families can enjoy this country atmosphere offering in-season peaches and tomatoes, dried flowers, maple syrup, and 25 varieties of apples including Honeycrisp and Northern Spy.

Mueller's Orchard and Cider Mill

In Linden, Mueller’s Orchard and Cider Mill is one of Genesee County’s oldest orchards. With over 7,500 apple varieties, fresh donuts, and cider, you will surely find something you’ll love. 

Montrose Orchards

Located on Seymour Road, Montrose Orchards has been part of the community since 1913. The orchard farm store offers fresh Michigan fruits as they come into season and other delicious treats including blueberry waffle cone ice cream and apple cider slush. 

Porter’s Orchard

In Goodrich, Porter’s Orchard serves up its Porter's award-winning apple cider, an ice-cold apple cider slushy, and hand-dipped ice cream. Inside its bakery, you can shop for fresh fruit and vegetables, and delicious sweets including house-made cider donuts.

Spicer’s Orchard

Located on Clyde Road in Fenton, Spicer Orchards has been harvesting apples for five generations.  In Spicer’s Farm Store, you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from their farm, as well as fresh cider donuts and warm apple cider – perfect for a chilly fall afternoon
