Flint has been known for its sports culture for decades. From the Flintstones – Flint natives who took the Michigan State Spartans Basketball team to the 2000 NCAA Division I Men's National Championship – to boxing stars like Claressa Shields and Tony Burton, Flint has produced some major athletes.

Flint City Bucks
The USL League Two National Champions came to Flint in 2019 and won their inaugural season. The Flint City Bucks, who play at Kettering University’s Historic Atwood Stadium, kicked off this season a few weeks ago. June 3-5 the Flint City Bucks will host the Hank Steinbecker Cup at Kettering University's Historic Atwood Stadium. This is the first time the national tournament will be held in Michigan. The last time the tournament was held in 2019, the Bucks were crowned the nation’s top amateur team amongst all of the top U.S. Soccer amateur leagues. Tickets go on sale on April 15.
Flint City AFC
New this year, the Flint City Bucks acquired a women's league. The newly named Flint City AFC, formerly Corktown AFC, will play USL W League at Kettering University's Historic Atwood Stadium. The Flint United, part of The Basketball League (TBL), is a professional basketball team. The team plays from March-May at Dort Financial Center with 11 home games. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.flintunited.net.
The local OHL Hockey team’s season runs from September to April with many opportunities to catch a home game at the Dort Financial Center. With players from around the world, the Flint Firebirds play against teams in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario, Canada. Fans can still catch a few more games before the season ends.
