Flint & Genesee has a long-standing history of theater and the performing arts. Troops like the Flint Community Players, the Fenton Village Players and Clio Cast & Crew have been performing live theater for decades providing arts enrichment to the community.

Flint is also a place where theatrical arts is fostered. Actors such as Evan Peters, from shows such as American Horror Story, participated in the Flint Youth Theatre, now known as the Flint Repertory Theater – a local institution that offers classes and workshops for learners of all ages.

Additionally, the University of Michigan-Flint Department of Theater and Dance has produced stage and screen actors including Erin Darke and puts on productions throughout the year.

Finally, touring Broadway and off-Broadway shows make their way to Flint via the Whiting Auditorium and the Capitol Theatre, both beautiful places to see live shows.
