Downtown Flint’s FIM Capitol Theatre has become a hotbed of excitement, and this fall and winter is no different, with a full slate of music and entertainment to chase the gray skies away.
Here is what you can see this season:
Sept. 18 - Flint Under the Stars: Indie – Brandon Z. Smith and Fernando Silverio Solis y El Sueño
An evening of indie music as two local performers take the Capitol stage.
Sept. 27 - East Meets West: National Arab Orchestra and members of the Flint Symphony Orchestra
Eastern and Western music unite to celebrate their transcendent power with vocalists and symphonic performances.
Oct. 5 - Morris Day and The Time
Known for his work with Prince, singer Morris Day appears with his band The Time to perform their hit “Jungle Love” among other popular favorites.
Oct. 16 - Flint Under the Stars: Christian Rock – Christian Anderson Band
A night of Christian rock with Flint’s Christian Anderson.
Oct. 19 - Serial Killers with Dr. Scott Bonn
An exciting lecture from renowned best-selling author Dr. Scott Bonn as he discusses the cultural fascination of serial killers.
Nov. 6 - Flint Under the Stars: Rock – 3rd Degree Burns
Rock out to classic hits as 3rd Degree Burns takes everyone in a musical time machine with a band comprised of young people from around the region.
Nov. 8 - Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox – The 10 Year Tour
A wonderful night of music and dance as modern pop hits are reimagined in different genres from swing to doo-wop.
Nov. 14 - Jay Leno
Beloved comedian and former late-night talk host Jay Leno comes to Flint for a night of laughs and fun.
Nov. 17 - Kanin Wren’s Taylor Swift Experience
A night of Taylor Swift’s hits and deep cuts sung by Kanin Wren with choreography, a full band, and costume changes to bring it all to life.
Nov. 20 - Morrissey
Known for his work with the band The Smiths, as well as a solo performer, Morrissey has carved out a place in alternative music over his long career with songs like “How Soon Is Now?” and “Everyday Is Like Sunday”.
Dec. 05 - Napoleon Dynamite LIVE!
Indie comedy darling “Napoleon Dynamite” returns to the screen in this 20th-anniversary celebration that brings key cast members to present the film and answer audience questions and interact with the audience afterward.
Dec. 12 - Home Free’s “Any Kind of Christmas” Tour
Enjoy an evening of Christmas music from all vocal band Home Free as they perform holiday classics and country standards.
Dec. 18 - Flint Under the Stars: Drag Show – Make the Yuletide Gay
Celebrate the holidays with a night of Christmas-themed drag fun, with local and regional performers and Miss Gay America 1982.
Jan. 25 - Classic Albums Live Performs Led Zeppelin IV
Classic rock fans will be on the stairway to Heaven during this evening celebrating the legendary album Led Zeppelin IV in its entirety from Classic Albums Live.
Chase the “blahs” away, get out of the house, and move to the music and fun happening at the FIM Capitol Theatre this fall and winter.
