With winter activities abound, it is easy to get caught up in the cold. However, there are plenty of places in Flint & Genesee where you can warm up. If you are looking for a place to stay warm, here are a few options:

Coffee Shops

With so many different coffee shops in Flint, it’s no wonder it was dubbed Coffee City by Awesome Mitten in 2017. If you are in downtown Flint, you can stop into Café Rhema, Flint Crepe Company or Foster Coffee Co. In the Carriage Town district, Good Beans Café and Wildroot Coffee are serving hot drinks. Outside of Flint, Fireside Coffee in Swartz Creek is a local favorite and in Fenton, the Rough Draft serves up hot coffee on a cold day.

Cultural Attractions

Looking to get out of the cold?. Why not check out a local museum or gallery? In the Flint Cultural Center, you can warm up at the Flint Institute of Arts, Sloan Museum or Longway Planetarium. In downtown Flint, the Mott-Warsh Collection is a private collection of art of the African diaspora. Near Kettering University, the Flint Children’s Museum is the perfect place to take the kids to get out of the cold.

In Flint & Genesee, there are many different places for kids and adults to play indoors. Planet 3 Extreme in Flint Township will get your blood flowing with trampolines, extreme dodgeball, a slackline and more. In Fenton, the newly opened Tri-County Ninja let’s your train your inner warrior with obstacles from the popular TV show, “American Ninja Warrior.” If you want something less physical and more mental, you can visit Michigan Escape Games in Davison or Spymaker Escape Rooms in Flint. Or you can have some virtual fun at Sandbox Virtual Reality Arcade.
