Women’s History Month celebrates the achievements and countless contributions of women, and it is a great time to recognize these things. If you are looking to celebrate the month locally, there are several options. Here are some of those.
March 14 – Women’s History Month Talk: Women in Ceramics
Executive Director Tracee Glab and Director and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions Sarah Kohn at the Flint Institute of Arts Museum + Art School discusses the “Making her Mark” exhibition and will discuss the challenges women in the arts faced in the early to mid-20th century in the field of clay.
March 15 – The GatHERing: A Place for all Women
This event, presented by Communities First, Inc., will be held at their offices on the former Baker College campus. The event brings women of different backgrounds together to connect, network, and learn from one another. There will be panel discussions, breakout groups, activities, and lunch. Registration is required.
March 24 – FGYP’s GET LIT Book Club: Women’s History Month
Join the Flint & Genesee Young Professionals for this book club at Queen’s Provisions as they celebrate both Women’s History Month and memoir month and discuss the books that have been read featuring interesting women.
