While Angelo’s is the most famous example of “Flint Style” coney dogs, the tradition lives on at many other diners and restaurants. Another local favorite is Halo Burger, founded in Flint in 1923, originally known as Kewpee before adopting the name it's known and loved for today for its Olive Burger and Boston Cooler. The Flint location has recently been renovated and reopened, renewing its legacy in downtown Flint.
If you love subs, then Big John Steak & Onion will be a familiar name. This Flint-based restaurant chain has been around since 1972, featuring fresh-grilled steak-and-onion subs on fresh-baked Italian rolls. Though their menu has changed over the years, this Flint favorite is still as good as ever.

Thought to be the oldest business in Genesee County, the Linden Hotel has been around since 1840 and even today offers delicious meals at affordable prices. Downtown Flint’s White Horse Tavern offers a cozy pub atmosphere with cold drinks and a filling menu. If you are in the mood for Italian, you can try Italia Gardens in Flint Township, Grand Blanc, or Davison. Whitey’s Restaurant & Take Out in Davison was established in 1955 and has become famous for its fish & chips. Finally, The Fenton Hotel Tavern & Grille offers elevated dining in what was once a thriving hotel in Fenton in the 1800s.
