With the arrival of March and the ever-increasing temperatures, there is a clear buzz that fills the air as people begin to count down the days to St. Patrick’s Day. Whether you are Irish by birth or by choice, this time of year is full of smiles, music, laughter, drink, and song. There are plenty of ways to celebrate this beloved holiday in Flint & Genesee.

ST. PATRICK'S PUB CRAWN FENTON – Mar. 16

In Fenton, you can join the St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl, which will take you to a handful of bars around the city. Have a full day of celebratory fun at the Barn, Corner Bar & Grill, the Fenton Pub, the FirePlace, and the Ponemah Lakeside Lodge. Tickets to join the pub crawl are $30 and include shuttle bus transportation, exclusive drink specials, giveaways, and more. Check-in is at 2 p.m. at one of the host locations where you will get your wristband and can either go bar to bar or stay and take your time at your first destination.

BARLEY & VINE'S 4TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION – Mar. 16-17

Barley & Vine will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the entire weekend with their 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration featuring Irish cuisine, beer, and appropriately festive drinks. The celebration will start at 4 a.m.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY BOXED LUNCH SALE – Mar. 14

Catholic Charities is offering its annual St. Patrick’s Day boxed lunch sale again this year if you are looking for something festive to eat. For $12 you will get a corned beef sandwich, chips, coleslaw, and a treat. Best of all of, this fundraiser helps support the services they offer the community.

44Th ANNUAL POT O' GOLD 4 MILE RUN AND WALK – Mar. 17

In downtown Flint you can take part in the 44th Annual Pot O’ Gold 4 Mile Run and Walk. This fun event offers shirts to all registrants, refreshments, music, and food, and a medal at the finish line. The course will take you through the city’s downtown, giving you an opportunity to see some of the beautiful historic architecture.

DOWNTOWN FLINT FUN – Mar. 17

While you’re downtown you can check out one of the many celebrations that will be happening St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

At Churchill’s Food & Spirits they will have activities going on all with food and drinks for the occasion. If you just want to ride around in style while you drink you can book a trip on Morgan’s Trolley Pub and see the town in a new way. You’ll need to book soon, because it’s the safest way to bounce between bars the weekend of St. Patrick’s Day.

Market Tap at the Flint Farmers’ Market is hosting its Shamrockin’ Patio Party with brunch upstairs prepared by the Flint Social Club starting at 11 a.m. After that, The Outfit will be playing live followed by members of the Scottish Pipe Band and a DJ coming just before evening. While you are there you can drink one of several Kuhnhenn Cereal Beers featured during the day.

Over at Blackstone’s Smokehouse they are offering patrons a chance to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day for the whole weekend with the fun starting at 10 a.m. and going to midnight each night with music, specials, food, and fun in ample supply.

Flint St. Patrick’s Day – Mar. 9 and 17

The Ancient Order of Hibernians will be holding its annual St. Patrick’s Day events if you crave something more traditional. The organization will have a Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser on Mar. 9 in Flushing with music, step dancing, and bagpipes featuring Flint’s St. Patrick’s Day Grand Marshals. On St. Patrick’s Day, the Ancient Order will celebrate Mass at St. Matthew’s Church. This will happen at 11 a.m. and will be a celebration of faith and heritage. Afterward, there will be an award ceremony honoring community contributions and Irish culture.

Captain’s Quarters – Mar. 17

Captain’s Quarters will celebrate the holiday all day starting with a corned beef hash breakfast from 9-11 a.m., food and drinks throughout the afternoon and evening, and music from DJ Matt and Image.

These are a few of the many celebrations scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day in Flint & Genesee, with nearly every bar and every town and city honoring the beloved holiday in their own way. However you want to celebrate the day, you’re bound to have fun.
