Best Places to Get a Great Sandwich in Flint & Genesee

On #NationalSandwichDay, Explore Flint & Genesee asked its followers on social media, “Where is the best sandwich in Flint & Genesee?”

After receiving some great responses, Explore Flint & Genesee compiled a list of where to go if you are craving a sandwich.

Here is that list:

Ruggero’s

This Italian restaurant located in Flint Township offers a wide variety of Italian and American cuisine. It also serves an array of sandwiches. One Facebook user suggests the Cold Sub (but have it heated) and the veggie sandwich on Rye.

Great Harvest Bread Company

Located in Grand Blanc, Great Harvest Bread Company specializes in, well, bread. With bakers coming in every morning at 3:30 a.m. to start baking fresh for the day, the bread company should know a thing or two about sandwiches. Their signature sandwich menu serves up a variety including a tuna melt and a California cobb.

Bear Soup Deli

Davison’s Bear Soup Deli came up a few times in response to the question. The local deli doesn’t have an extensive menu but what it serves up it serves right including a French dip, a grilled Reuben and a classic BLT. The deli also has a great selection of rotating soups.

Steady Eddy’s Café at the Market

Located at the Flint Farmers’ Market, Steady Eddy’s Café is known as a great breakfast and lunch joint in downtown Flint. The local café has a variety of delicious sandwiches along with rotating specials including a fried bologna sandwich.

The Laundry

In Fenton, this almost 25-year-old establishment has its roots in sandwiches. The full-service restaurant started off as a breakfast and lunch joint selling a variety of sandwiches some of which are still on the menu today.

Hoffman’s Deco Deli & Café

A Flint staple, Hoffman’s is known for its delicious variety of sandwiches. Many of its sandwiches pay homage to the community with names like The Weatherball, The Autoworld and The Whiting. The local deli also has rotating sandwiches created by community partners each month with proceeds from sandwich sales going to local organizations.
