The average sales price of homes climbed 16.5 percent in April 2017 over the same period last year, according to the East Central Association of REALTORS®.
The average price in April was $132,488 versus $113,732 a year ago. In addition, the April average continued to tick upwards, exceeding March’s average price of $129,711. It represents the third consecutive month this year of higher average sales price compared to the previous month.
Meanwhile, residential sales in Flint & Genesee declined 11.5 percent in April 2017 from the same period last year. There were 391 homes sold last month compared to 442 in April 2016.
The monthly housing report is produced by the East Central Association of REALTORS®, an organization of more than 900 real estate professionals serving Flint & Genesee. The report represents the housing activity of the Multiple Listing Service and not necessarily all housing activity in Genesee County.
