Each month, downtown Flint is filled with excitement and art with the Second Friday ArtWalk. Over 20 businesses and cultural organizations collaborate to bring this diverse display of art to the general public.

Here are some experiences you can expect this month:

A Virtual Reality Pop-Up Experience

During ArtWalk in Buckham Alley, Flint-based artist Amanda Edwards will debut her show “Friends” in partnership with Genusee, an eyewear manufacturer based out of Flint. The first five attendees will receive a free pair of Genusee made-in-Flint sunglasses, and a tote bag designed by the artist.

Flint Festival of Writers Kick-Off Party

The Flint Festival of Writers is celebrating their weekend of festivities with an evening of libations and literature at the Ferris Wheel building. The evening will include live music and several hands-on creative writing activities. Book lovers can also join Flint Handmade for a book club discussion and the Yarn Brigade will also be showing off work inspired by literature.

FIELD WORK at Buckham Gallery

Buckham Gallery’s grand opening of a very special exhibit opens during ArtWalk. FIELD WORK explores elements and concepts inspired by and in response to the natural world around us, expressed through a diverse range of media including painting, photography, fiber and mixed media installation.

Flint Underground Presents: September ArtWalk Friday the 13th

Flint Underground is hosting a Friday the 13th party at Churchill’s Food & Spirits featuring music from Brady Gozza, Mr. Furious, Mr. Demented and Bingo Pajama.

Greater Flint Arts Council Presents Michigan Photographers

In cooperation with the Second Friday ArtWalk, the Greater Flint Arts Council will feature original works from local artists. Food and beverage will be provided with live music by Mike Epsy and Friends.
