With Governor Whitmer’s Stay at Home restrictions lifted, Flint & Genesee is ready to start re-opening with restaurants, stores and attractions putting guidelines in place to encourage social distancing.

Here are five things you can safely do starting next week:

Local restaurants are beginning to open at 50 percent capacity starting next week. However, the safest way to dine out while maintaining social distancing is outside.

Fenton Winery & Brewery is opening service in their restaurant and beer garden starting June 11, Cork on Saginaw is opening their doors on June 9 and many more restaurants are planning to re-open throughout the week.

Have a beach day

Many beaches are opening back up and are a great place to bring the family for some social distancing fun. Places to check out include Bluebell Beach in Flint and Clover Beach at Linden County Park.

Shop at your favorite local store

Locally owned shops and boutiques are starting to open into next week. Shoppers can now go out and buy new clothing, jewelry, home goods and more.

Check out Bridge Street Exchange in Fenton which sells men’s goods and Shift in Flint, a locally owned boutique.

Go on a community bike ride

Get some friends together to ride bikes or join in one of the Social Cycling Flint’s Thursday Night rides. You can also take a tour of Flint with the Flint City Bike Tours.

Watch a movie at the Drive-In

Although the US-23 Digital Drive-in Theater has been open for a few weeks now, it is still a great way to get out of the house and enjoy some entertainment in Flint & Genesee.
