The Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Richfield Bowl recently collaborated to secure the 48th Annual Michigan State Senior Bowling Tournament. The tournament began last week and play continues May 15-19 at Richfield Bowl.

The sports event is held annually around the state and it has been several years since it was played in Genesee County.  America’s Best Value Inn and Suites is the host hotel for out-of-area competitors.

A new classification was created this year for ages 50-54 and over 1,160 players are competing in doubles and singles events.  Winners of those events will be eligible to participate in the USBC National Senior Tournament in Reno in July 2014.
