PTAC and VETBIZ Central Host Workshop
Considering diversifying your revenue stream through government contracting? Are you a veteran who owns a business? Then consider exploring the possibilities for your business by attending the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Procurement Technical Assistance Center’s (PTAC) Selling your Products or Services to the Government workshop.
The August workshop, which is co-sponsored by VETBIZ Central, takes place on Tuesday, August 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Goodwill Industries in Flint.
According to Dustin Frigy, Director of PTAC for the Regional Chamber there are opportunities through government contracting that can help diversify your business. He says that veteran-owned businesses can take advantage of service disabled veteran certification.
“Many businesses, especially veteran-owned businesses, don’t think about government contracting when they are looking to grow,” said Frigy. “But they really should take a look at getting in on the over $500 billion government contracting market. There are many opportunities for businesses large and small to work with local, state and federal government departments.”
“For veterans, there are advantages to gaining service disabled veterans status when working with the government. If you come to the seminar on August 7, we will show you the nuts and bolts of getting certified and government contracting, so that you can explore the possibilities for your business.”
Attendees also will learn about the services and support the Regional Chamber PTAC has available to help with the contracting process. The workshop will benefit management and employees who currently support or have an interest in facilitating government contracting within their companies.
There is no cost to attend, but reservations are required. Goodwill Industries is located at 501 Averill Avenue in Flint.
