What’s your 60-second elevator speech about your business?

ATWIL (“Ability to Work in Life”) is a nonprofit employment network that provides a wide variety of vocational and community services for people with disabilities in Genesee County.  Our programs range from evaluating work skills and abilities, training, networking, business development, job placement and retention.  ATWIL strives to connect people with disabilities to local corporations and small business.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today.

What drew you to your line of business?

I grew up as the only person in my family of five with the ability to hear.  Growing up in a family with hearing disabilities helped me realize that my life’s work would focus on helping people with challenges gain employment.

What is your most marked characteristic?

I am outgoing, approachable and understanding.  I love to meet different people.
