The Genesee Chamber Foundation, a support organization of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Katharine Roat Stevens Education and Training Fund.  Female entrepreneurs looking to explore business or training are eligible for the scholarship.

The late Katharine Roat Stevens was a well-known business owner and advocate for women in business. The fund, named in her honor, supports education and training for women in Genesee County pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors.

Awards may be used for college, vocational, or recognized business-related training tuition, fees and books, and will be paid directly to the training institution. Applicants must be 18 years old, have an interest in becoming an entrepreneur and show financial need.

Training Fund applications are available through area colleges or by contacting the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce Education and Training Coordinator at krset@flintandgenesee.org.  Applications are accepted four times a year starting on March 30.  Additional deadlines include June 30, Sept. 30 and Dec. 31.

The Katharine Roat Stevens Education and Training Fund is held at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and managed by the Genesee Chamber Foundation.
