Burton, MI (June 30, 2010)—On Wednesday, June 30, Genesys PHO celebrated a relocation grand opening with a news conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new facility is located at 3495 South Center Rd., near the intersection of Center and Bristol Roads in Burton.

Genesys PHO is a collaborative organization between the Genesys Health System and 151 primary care physicians, with 373 local contracted specialists, serving 125,000 managed care patients throughout Genesee, Lapeer, Oakland, Shiawassee, and Tuscola counties.

“With the new facility, the support staff will be able to work more closely with the primary care physicians and specialists in the Genesys PHO to provide more efficient and effective care for the patients they serve,” said Tim Herman, Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce CEO. “When you serve more than 125,000 managed care patients in five counties every cost-saving practice is important.”

Genesys PHO has relocated most of its business operations to a 21,000 square foot facility. This new administrative office building will house the information systems, medical oversight, revenue cycle management and provider services departments of Genesys PHO and Providers Management, Inc. Patient care will not be provided at this location.

Michael James, President and CEO, noted that having the approximately 100 employees in a single location will enhance the effectiveness of Genesys PHO working with its participating providers to improve the health of the patients in their communities, to improve the patient’s experience with the health delivery system, and to improve efficiencies, which will make our overall health care cost more competitive.
