The Daily Beast, an online news site, named Flint one of the Best Healthcare Cities for 2012.  The list, which includes the top 25 cities with the most comprehensive overall health-care coverage, the most comprehensive coverage for the very young and the very old and the most comprehensive coverage for the disabled, was compiled using census data.

According to the data utilized for the rankings, 89 percent of Flint residents have overall health-care coverage; 96.16 percent of children 18 years old and younger have health-care coverage; 99.91 percent of adults 65 years old and above have health-care coverage and 94.38 percent of the area’s disabled population has health-care coverage.
