Community Champion will also be Recognized
(FLINT, MICH - May 22) The customer service superstars of the Flint and Genesee hospitality industry will be honored at the 25th Annual Flint & Genesee Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Hospitality Awards. The event takes place on Thursday, May 23 at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Each year the Flint & Genesee CVB collaborates with hotels, restaurants and business establishments to gather customer commendations for high levels of hospitality and customer service from across the region.
According to Tim Herman CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, the Hospitality Awards provide recognition for a commitment to excellence that this region should be proud to embrace.
“As the CVB works to increase the number of overnight visitors to the area, it is a good thing for the region to have customer service professionals who approach their role on the frontlines of tourism with enthusiasm,” said Herman. “Those who will receive awards were recognized by the people they served as ‘going above and beyond’ to provide exceptional service. Good customer service sends an important message that we are a welcoming community and a great place to visit.”
For the first time this year, a Community Champion will be honored for assisting the CVB with bringing a meeting to the region with the greatest economic impact to the region.
Cheryl Defrain, Director of the Regional Chamber CVB says the Hospitality award nominees and the Community Champion exemplify the community spirit needed to encourage visitors to “See what’s possible” in Flint & Genesee.
“The CVB created the Hospitality Awards to recognize the best of the best in Genesee County,” said DeFrain. “May is Hospitality Month and many of the people recognized at the awards rarely receive praise for their hard work. This event is the perfect way to say thank you for going the extra mile to provide great customer service.”
