Next week, many Americans will celebrate Thanksgiving Day by spending time with loved ones and giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives.  So, during this season of gratitude I want to dedicate my column to expressions of thanks.

I am thankful for our investors -- the leaders who invest in the work that we do and sit at the table with us to help reinvent Flint and Genesee County. I really appreciate these leaders providing their expertise and resources for the betterment of the area.

I am thankful for our valued members. They are strong organizations – large and small – that are delivering great customer service, offering great products and are giving back to their communities. We are grateful for the privilege of being your advocate in business and providing you with tools and resources to help you develop and grow.

I am thankful for the significant growth that the Chamber has undergone in the past two years. Because of our members, we are now one of the top 10 largest chambers in the state. We have grown our portfolio of services, grown our staff and the auspices of our leadership. Through vision, leadership and strategic partnerships we have created a strong business climate where businesses can accomplish their goals. I am thankful for our achievements and for everyone who helped us get there.

I am also thankful for the employees of the Flint & Genesee Chamber. No doubt they are the organization’s competitive advantage. We have a growing, talented and diverse staff that never ceases to amaze me with their dedication to creating a region where people are excited to work, live and play.

Those are just a few things that I am grateful for in addition to my family and friends.

What about you? What are you thankful for?
