Looking to take your business to the next level online? Consider attending “The Power of the Mouse: Clicking Your Business from Good to Great” on Friday, April 27. The seminar will be held at the University of Michigan-Flint School of Management at Riverfront Banquet Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hosted by the African American Advisory Committee of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Flint Black Chamber of Commerce, this is the first in a series of Lunch and Learn business seminars.
The seminar will focus on the importance of technology in sales growth, customer service and customer feedback. Joseph Ketzler, Social Media Manager and Certified Marketing Consultant for LikesLocal -- a Google partner company, will provide participants with tools and tips to maximize the Internet and social media to advance their business to the next level. In addition, participants will receive a free mobile website for attending the seminar.
Ketzler says being accessible through smart phone technology is a critical element of sales and marketing success.
“Ninety seven percent of all business websites are not smart phone compatible,” said Ketzler. “But, 40 percent of all searches are done on mobile phones. That’s why having a site that will optimize your presence on the Internet and through search engines is critical to your company’s growth. This seminar will help you learn how to reach your customers and clients where they are through smart phones and the Internet.”
According to Terence Boussard, Chair of the African American Advisory Committee of the Regional Chamber and General Manager of Genesee Packaging this seminar is a great way to kick off this collaborative series, which is designed to provide a venue for area minority business representatives to share best practices.
“The collaboration between the Regional Chamber’s AAAC and the Flint Black Chamber of Commerce is focused on providing networking and business connectivity for minority businesses in Flint and Genesee County,” said Broussard. “Our plan is to provide businesses with the tools for success and growth.”
Preston Means, President of the Flint Black Chamber of Commerce and a Member of the Regional Chamber’s AAAC, says that the opportunity to help black business owners gain the tools needed to grow is a shared mission for both organizations and important for growth of the region.
“Flint and Genesee County business owners will benefit from the information and resources available through this collaborative effort,” said Means. “As a business owner, I understand how important networking and leveraging resources can be for business success. This series is a great way to meet fellow business owners while gaining valuable knowledge in the process.”
