A Full Year of Racing in Flint & Genesee

Flint & Genesee is home to one of the state’s largest road races, the HAP Crim Festival of Races, which brings thousands of participants to downtown Flint every year. The annual event is the culmination of a full year of races that the Crim hosts to gear up for the main event, along with a race-training club. It’s a busy year for racing, and it’s already underway, and there are plenty of opportunities to get out there and hit the road. With options like the HAP Crim Festival of Races and many local and regional events, you’ll be racing all year in Flint & Genesee.

May 9| Powers Catholic 5K

This race is perfect for runners of all abilities as it winds through the campuses of Powers and the Michigan School for the Deaf.

May 16| Flip Flop 5K

The Davison Area Chamber of Commerce run will take you through Black Creek Nature Trail in Davison and Davison Township.

My 16| Spring into Fitness

In Flushing, Powered by Grace presents this community-centered 5k run/walk experience.

May 23| Clio Can Do Freedom 4 Veterans Race

In Clio, you can take part in a four-mile run/walk.

May 25| Burton Memorial Day 5k

This race is the second in the Burton Race Series and will honor military personnel who gave their lives in service. The course is a USATF-certified course.

May 28| Swartz Creek Challenge 5K

This event features an adult 5K run/walk/competitive walk.

June 4| Band on the Run 5K

This race will help support the Linden High School Marching Band with a 5K through the school campus. The marching band will even be out motivating racers.

June 7| RailRun 5K Free Family Fun Run

This Fenton run is a cooperative event between the Crim, RailYard Fenton, and Long Drink.

June 13| BYOC - Wild West 5K

The Midwest Invitational Rodeo presents this 5K at the Genesee County Fairgrounds with a full day of rodeo entertainment, vendors, and activities for the family.

June 13| Tractor Trail 5K

Fenton’s Spicer Orchards hosts this fun event pairing cider, both sweet and hard, and a 5k run. The event also offers a Kids Fun Run and a virtual race.

June 20| Wings of Mercy Runway 5k

Held at Linden’s Price’s Airport, this 5K Run/Competitive Walk and Fun Run/Walk will be held on the runway and taxiways of the airport, held at twilight.

June 26-27| Fenton Festival of Fitness

This event is aimed at athletes of all backgrounds, and the weekend will end with a 5k run/walk on Saturday morning.

July 4| Fenton Firecracker 5K & 2K Run/Walk

This race in Fenton will precede the city’s annual 4^th of July parade with a 5K and 2.5K.

July 8| Mighty Mile – Free Race for Kids

This race is free for children aged 5 to 14 and is part of the Michigan Running Foundation Mighty Mile series, held at Carman Ainsworth Middle School. All runners receive a backpack, t-shirt, and finisher medal.

July 9| Scoop de Loop 5K Run/Walk & Junior Scoop Shuffle

This race will be hosted at Flushing High School and will go through Flushing County Park.

July 11| Bastille Day Race (5K|10K|15K)

This French-themed race in Fenton features several races, from a 5k walk to a 15k run.

July 18| Clio Can Do 5K

This is the second race in the Clio Can-Do race series, starting and finishing at Pride Stadium at Clio High School.

July 23| 9th Annual London Strong "Set Your Dreams" 5K Run/Walk

This event features a 5K race, as well as a Kitten Caboodle kids’ fun run.

Aug. 8| Berry Bash 5K

Great Lakes Race Management presents this race series in Fenton at Spicer Orchards.

Aug. 15| 7-Lakes Trail Run (3.5 Mile & 7 Mile)

This race offers either a 3.5-mile or a 7-mile race along the Holly trail, taking runners through forests and near waterways.  

Aug. 20-22| 2026 HAP Crim Festival of Races

This beloved race returns for another great year for various ages and abilities.

Aug. 30| Race for the Crown (5K & 1-Mile)

Head to Holly for this fun race kicking off the Michigan Renaissance Festival. The race is open to runners and walkers of all levels and features 5k and 1-mile options that wind through the fairgrounds.

Sept. 5| Mott Lake Trail Run (3Mile|5Mile|12.5K)

Run along the Flint River Trail during this race, featuring a 3-mile course, 5-mile ourse, and 12.5k course.

Sept. 12| Honeycrisp Harvest Hustle

Sept. 19| 54th Annual St. John Applefest Road Race

With the return of Fenton’s Applefest comes its 54^th annual road race.

Dec. 13| Run Run Rudolph 5K
